Welcome to the Memorial Website
of
Timber Tom Wyma

In loving memory of Timber Tom Wyma, this website is dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of a remarkable man. Timber Tom was not only a great forester, but also a devoted dad, loving husband, and an honest, kind, and helpful person to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Throughout his life, Timber Tom worked in many industries, including as a delivery driver for a parts store and a photographer, in a ladies underwear factory (haha), for various governmental parks service like entities, and as a professional forester in California. Timber Tom's reverance for the world was evident through his forestry career in his tireless efforts to protect and conserve our natural resources, while still helping the higher ups make a profit and harvest one of our world's most important renewable resources in a responsible and sustainable way. He made significant contributions to the field, leaving an indelible mark on the people and enviroment of northern California.

After his forestry career was over, Timber Tom made a living and supported his family by buying and selling antiques and collectibles. With an impeccable eye for unique pieces and a deep knowledge of history, antiques, jewelry, artwork, and collectibles of all kinds, he excelled in the world of antiques. Timber Tom found great success using eBay as an online marketplace, connecting with collectors and enthusiasts from around the globe. What set him apart the most, though, was his attention to detail. No scratch went unphotographed, every package was assembled with the greatest of care and skill, and every part of the process was done simply better than the rest. (Writer's note: I always gave my dad shit for spending so much time taking nice photos and packing to the nth degree, I literally would tell him "they could drop a nuke on that package and it would still get delivered on time and in one piece")

His expertise, integrity, and enthusiasm earned him a reputation as a trusted antique dealer. Timber Tom's ability to identify valuable treasures and his genuine love for the stories behind each item made his collection truly special. He took great joy in helping others find and appreciate the beauty and history within these antiques, and never took advantage of any person, regardless of the potential monetary gain. Timber Tom was actually known to sometimes pay more than asking price so as to make sure both parties got a good deal, to give or sell at extremely reduced prices to families that may have a connection to an antique, and even sometimes would give back some of the profits to individuals that sold an item too cheaply.

As a loving father, Timber Tom shared his wisdom, values, and love for nature with his child, Ethan, and Ethan's friends. His dedication to family and the lessons he imparted will forever shape his lives and those of future generations in the same way all knowledge, compassion and wisdom is passed down: through his child doing his best to follow in his footsteps.

Timber Tom was not only an accomplished professional and devoted family man, but he also had a kind and compassionate heart. His generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand touched the lives of many, even if later in life he was somewhat of a recluse. It is truly unfortunate that he did not get to live to see all of the contributions he made to those around him flourish to their full extent.

On this memorial website, we invite you to join us in celebrating Timber Tom's life, sharing memories, stories, and reflections. May this tribute serve as a testament to his remarkable journey and the positive influence he had on the world around him.

Timber Tom McLaughlin Wyma was born on September 21st, 1956 to Henry Wyma and Mary Jean Wyma. He had two brothers, Wildlife Willy Wyma (dec.), and Mike Wyma. He was married to Karry Wyma, with whom he had a child, Ethan Wyma (the creator of this website and archive). Timber Tom sadly passed away at the all too young age of 66 on October 16th, 2022 after a 2 year battle with Uveal Melanoma that metastasized to his liver. The doctors told him he would be lucky to have half a year, and he lasted nearly 3. A fighter till the very end! :)

Thank you for visiting and honoring the memory of Timber Tom Wyma, and may God bless him.
